Full Carbon Fiber Wheels

Weds Sport a Japanese tuning company has now added to their wheel line 6 pound carbon fiber wheels. The wheels are made with the DRY Carbon Process and not the wet carbon process. If you are looking to buy a set this year you can expect to pay anywhere from 10 to 12 grand. Its not really a set of wheels you would want to smoke a pot hole in. That would be a easy $2500 dollar mistake. I’m guessing carbon fiber wheel repair is not something that even exists. I think this is the first time i seen carbon fiber wheels with the option to be in a full carbon 1 pc wheel.

Konig and Enkei Wheel Weights Added

We have now added more wheel weights for Konig wheels and Enkei Wheels. We have also added a few more to our Rota wheel weights and VOLK Racing Wheel Weights. Enkei’s manufacturing processes involve complex planning and development for each wheel produced. Enkei has leightweight wheels for 1, 2 and 3-piece wheels. Konig also has some lightweight wheels in their line. Forgiato Wheels

When i was browseing around the internet i seen a wicked BMW and had to know what wheels it was rocking. Turns out it is from a company called Forgiato wheels. I really like their style. Forgiato was one of the first companys to bring out the transparent wheels at the sema show last year.

Here is a little bit about them taken from their website. "Forgiato was launched in 2005. In 2002, we started by importing wheels from the far east. Wheels and Tires Installation

Mounting Procedures For the proper mounting of your wheels and tires, be sure to observe some simple precautions:

Wheel is securely seated on the hub face.
All lugs have the proper torque.
No Build up of dirt between the hub and wheel.
The wheel is not bent.
Both tire beads are securely seated on the wheel / rim.

Make sure when installing your new wheels to Avoid scratching or bending the alloy wheels during installation. Wheels are manufactured with extremely soft metals with a greater sensitivity and scratching. This can cause distortion under high pressure. Modern new style tire machines apply equal pressure to both top and bottom beads with no pressure on the wheel / rim itself. New Machines have a pad on the base of the mounting machine that protects HMC chrome plated, painted or machined wheels from scratches and light damage. Make sure you don’t just get your new wheels and tires install at any old garage. Make sure they are used to dealing with sizes from 17 to 22 and so on. A lot of the older wheel and tire machines are being replaced with the new ones so most up to date wheel dealers have the new gear. During the mounting process, proper lubrication is a must make sure to lubricate both top and bottom beads with an approved tire lubricant. If the beads do not seat at 40 psi, break the entire assembly down and restart the process. Make sure to re-lubricate the bead areas. Always Observe and match mounting procedures proper tire and wheel assembly balancing is important from a vehicle safety standpoint. In high speed driving, improperly balanced tire andwheel assemblies will cause a vehicle to lose stability and not operate in a safe and comfortable manner with heavy shakeing. A Improperly balanced tire/wheel assemblies will also cause abnormal treadwear patterns.

HD wheels out of Plant City Florida also known as HPD Wheels have released their new wheels for 2008. This includes a few new finishes of their past popular wheels. The HD MSR (Sizes 15 x 6.5, 17×7.5, 18×7.5, 20×8.5, 20×10.0 Inch) and HD LaDeca (Sizes 20×8.5, 20×10.0, 22×10.5, 24×10 Inch) now comes in a black machined face color.

Two other wheels worth mentioning are the all new HD Smoke and HD Mach5. The HD Mach 5 comes in gold, red and Black while the HD Smoke comes in a black diamond cut. HD wheels currently has four wheel lines including HARDLINE, GRANDE, SIGNATURE and HD Tuning wheels formally POISON. They also own AUTOART wheels, a manufacture of 3 piece wheels.
